Linda Clingan, an activist who co-founded Campaign for Equal Justice, an organization that raises funds to provide legal services to those in need, died on Jan. 25, 2024. She was 76.

Linda Clingan was born in Seattle on Oct. 2, 1947. She was a tomboy who loved to go bird hunting with her father, James Clingan, a WWII veteran. Both he and his daughter were enrolled members of the Delaware Tribe of Indians; Clingan maintained a lifelong connection to her Native American roots.
