RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) – The federal government is investing two billion dollars to expand Ellsworth Air Force Base In Box Elder. The new B-21 Raider Bomber fleet and 14,000 additional Air Force personnel are set to arrive at the facility soon.
The State of South Dakota is preparing for the expansion of the base and the people who live there. Mike Walsh, the co-chair of the Ellsworth Air Force Base legislative committee says the top priority for this expansion is to offer comfort for military members and their families.
