Major League Cricket 2024: Travis Head Becomes Second Australian After Steve Smith To Join Washington Freedom [Video]

Australia batter Travis Head will join his teammate Steve Smith at Washington Freedom for the second season of the Major League Cricket, scheduled to take place after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup in June.

Currently, Head is playing in the IPL 2024 season for Sunrisers Hyderabad and will extend his T20 presence to the United States with his maiden stint at MLC 2024. This comes a week after Smith joined the franchise for the second edition.

After the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA, Australia have no bilateral commitments until travelling to England for a white-ball tour in September.

Both Head and Smith will be playing under head coach Ricky Ponting, who replaced Greg Shipperd in the role recently.
