WATERFORD, Conn. — A Norwalk man has been arrested and charged with first-degree larceny after allegedly using a fraudulent credit card to purchase an off-road vehicle from a Waterford business.

Waterford police said on Friday that Julio Moore, 34, purchased a 2023 Can-Am off-road vehicle valued at $29,298 from Motorsports Nation, located at 110 Cross Road in Waterford, on March 25.

The credit card company initially approved the transaction, and Moore picked up the vehicle on March 26. After the initial purchase, however, police said a victim identified in Arizona noticed fraudulent activity on her credit card and immediately informed her bank.

On April 11, around 5:24 p.m., Moore allegedly returned to the Waterford business to pick up the vehicle title and remaining paperwork. Members of the Waterford Police Department were dispatched to the business and Moore was subsequently arrested and charged.
