SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. (Gray News) – The California Highway Patrol busted a driver in the carpool lane who had a plastic dummy in the passenger seat of his vehicle.

The CHP said in an Instagram post they found the driver’s fake friend after pulling the driver over for allegedly crossing double yellow lines.

“We’ve gotta give it to them, the appearance is next level modeling but at the end of the day… plastic is plastic,” the caption read.

The CHP joked about the plastic dummy and said “The goatee was sharp, just a little too sharp.”

Officers cited the driver for multiple alleged carpool violations. In California, the minimum fine for a carpool violation is $490.
