U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton, a former Marine who’s emerged a formidable foreign policy voice on Capitol Hill, will seek a sixth term representing the North Shore-based 6th Congressional District.
In a statement, Moulton’s campaign said it had submitted 3,400 signatures to the Secretary of State’s Office to run again for the seat, which spans most of Essex County and part of Middlesex County.
In an interview with his hometown Gloucester Times, Moulton, 45, said that if he’s re-elected to another two-year term, he’ll focus on protecting reproductive rights; improving public transportation; and tackling the national security threats posed by Russia and China.
“We need a national China strategy,” Moulton, who serves on a special House subcommittee on China, told the newspaper. “We need to better manage competition, but most of all to succeed in deterrence. It’s critical that we succeed on deterrence.”
