(25News Now) – The McLean County Clerk is denouncing the release of voter information in a local publication.
Clerk Kathy Michael says the information including names, birth dates, addresses and whether or not someone voted in the 2020 election and was released by the McLean County Times did not come from the clerk’s office.
Michael, a Republican, is also calling out an unnamed Democratic county board member for accusing the clerk’s office of releasing the information.
The McLean County Times is a product of Local Government Information Services. Michael says the release of information also happened on the websites of associated publications of LGIS.
When checking the publication associated with the Peoria area, the same amount of information was also published.
