DENISON, Texas (KTEN) — Saturday’s special election for the Denison City Council is right around the corner, but this ballot will look different for voters.
Two current council members are running for mayor, with Robert Crawley stepping down from Place 4 and Brian Hander resigning from Place 6.
Spence Redwine will take over in Place 4; he’s running unopposed. Teresa Adams and Braeden Wright are contending for Place 6, which is an at-large seat representing the entire city.
“Ready to get to work and looking to make a change,” said Wright, who hopes to continue his family’s legacy in local politics.
“My dad was the youngest Denison city councilman ever in the nineties. Seeing his leadership throughout the community inspired me to run,” Wright said.
He is focusing his campaign on the concerns of Denison taxpayers.
