MLGW gives back to Frayser community in honor of MLK Day of Service [Video]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) employees gave back to the Frayser community on Friday in honor of MLK Day of Service.

The utility company had to reschedule its annual service day as it was supposed to take place back in January, but winter weather impacted the project.

On Friday, dozens of employees met at Promise Land Church to serve those living in the area. Teams went door to door, delivering energy-saving kits to help customers lower their utility bills.

“In the past, we’ve been in Orange Mound, we’ve been in South Memphis, we’ve been in the Klondike Smokey City area, so it’s an honor today to be in the Frayser community,” said Beverly Perkins, supervisor of corporate social responsibility at MLGW.
