A WOMAN who left her 16-month-old daughter alone while she vacationed has been on trial, with her lawyers having trouble defending her.
Kristel Candelario left her daughter Jaylin alone in a playpen for 10 days while she vacationed.
The child was dead when Candelario returned home in Cleveland, Ohio, prompting her to call the police.
Candelario was arrested and pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and child endangerment, resulting in a life sentence.
“We gotta do our job at the end of the day,” said her lawyer, Derek Smith, per NewsNation Now.
“Defend the Constitution, defend our client the best we can.”
