Musketeers win again, putting Stars in 2-0 series hole [Video]

After a 3-1 loss to the Sioux City Musketeers at the Ice Box on Saturday and a 2-0 series deficit heading to Sioux City, Iowa, in the USHL Western Conference quarterfinals, the Lincoln Stars have their backs to the wall.

But Lincoln has found confidence on the road. They defeated Waterloo 2-0 in a best-of-three series in Waterloo, Iowa, to advance to face the Musketeers.

“That’s going going to a choice for the guys,” Lincoln head coach Rocky Russo said. “We’ve made some adjustments (Saturday) to our systematic play that I thought was beneficial. We limited the chances (Sioux City) got, but we have to finish.

“It’s hard. We’ve played four playoff games, and we’ve had zero power plays in two of them. There is nothing I can say to justify that.”

Lincoln veteran Justin Mexico agreed.
