CINCINNATI (WXIX) – “I’m just happy he no longer looks like a Simpson doll,” Ryan Binkley jokes, “He’s back to his regular, happy skin glow. Full of life, full of energy.”

Ryan Binkley is talking about his 3-year-old son Curtis. Curtis was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer when he was six months old. He was put on the liver transplant list in January 2023. Curtis’s parents received the call they had been waiting for last fall – they could set a date for his transplant around Halloween at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

“When they called us and they said it was definitely on,” Ryan said. “We hung up the phone and we looked at each other and we were just so excited, jumping for joy.”
