A research team led by Marta Hatzell, an associate professor at the College of Engineering at Georgia Tech, has devised a new process that makes recovering carbon dioxide from the carbon capture process less energy-intensive and more economical. The carbon dioxide captured through this can be used to make new plastics, chemicals, and fuels. 

As global temperatures soar, scientists are looking for ways to reduce greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. While one approach is to prevent the release of this gas using alternate energy sources like solar and wind, some researchers are working to capture the carbon dioxide already present in the atmosphere.
