On the outside, it looks like a normal — albeit, very shiny — bright yellow school bus, but on the inside, there are new gadgets, sprawling technology and safety features that will make next year’s buses for the Omaha Public Schools more advanced than before.
Zum Services, the district’s new student transportation company, debuted its school buses at a hiring event in Omaha on Thursday. The vehicles are equipped with features such as an electronic tablet for driver navigation, extra supportive driver seats and a camera system that can capture photos in case of an incident inside or outside the bus.
