SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Governor Kristi Noem is facing online criticism for detailing the story of shooting her dog and a goat in her new book.
According to an article from The Guardian, which obtained a copy of Noem’s upcoming book No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward, Noem uses the story of putting down a 14-month-old hunting dog and a goat as an example of her willingness to do things that are “difficult, messy and ugly” if the task needs to be done.
In the book, Noem discusses her female wirehair pointer, Cricket, who had an “aggressive personality.” Noem discloses how she chose to put down the dog by shooting it after it had misbehaved on a hunting trip, attacked a local family’s chickens and attempted to bite Noem as she pulled the dog away.
