WATERVILLE, Maine (WABI) – Northern Light Inland Hospital & Purdue Global Simulation Center in Waterville serves as a learning opportunity where aspiring nurses can learn hands-on skills for real-life simulated events.
Those students cared for a heart failure patient Monday which means even more since this is American Heart Month.
”We have actually been kind of working through heart health month since the beginning of February, we have done a few different events we recognized National Wear Red Day,” Melissa Goodwin said.
Melissa Goodwin is the academic program head for Purdue Global’s Prelicensure nursing program.
”So when you think about heart health, we actually hit it on multiple levels. It starts clear back in anatomy and physiology when then learn this structure of the heart,” Goodwin said.
Students will take turns to visit the patient,
