TULSA, Okla. — The Oklahoma Route 66 Association held an open house in Tulsa Saturday after 20 years in Chandler.

The open house event was held at the new base of operations near 11th and Lewis in Midtown Tulsa.

Rhys Martin, president of the Oklahoma Route 66 Association says he’s very excited to be closer to the Tulsa community.

“We’re really happy to be here,” he said. “Our association is over 30 years old. We’ve been in Chandler, Arcadia and Bethany. This is our first time here and Tulsa’s energy with Route 66 and the great welcome we had.”

The Oklahoma Route 66 Association is a not-for-profit organization made up of volunteers who are dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Route 66, according to their website.
