Omaha police memo warns of meth coming from Mexican cartels [Video]

In a bulletin distributed to Omaha Police Department officers recently, OPD leadership alerted officers to a “large increase” in narcotics distribution across Omaha — specifically methamphetamine tied to Mexican cartels.

Both state and federal data show a significant uptick in meth seizures over the past five years, according to information from the Omaha police and other law enforcement agencies. According to the bulletin, most of the drugs seized in Omaha originate from two Mexican cartels: Sinaloa Cartel, a well-established drug trafficking syndicate, and Jalisco New Generation Cartel, a powerful group considered by the U.S. Department of Justice to be one of the five most dangerous transnational criminal organizations in the world.
