SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 34-year-old man was sent to the hospital Friday after being struck by a pickup truck in Otay Mesa West, authorities said.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the man was walking westbound across the 1200 block of Picador Boulevard shortly before 8 p.m. At that same time, a 25-year-old man driving a 2017 Dodge Ram turned out of a parking lot on the west side of the street.
Police said the driver struck the pedestrian with his vehicle, causing the walking man to sustain a fractured pelvis. The pedestrian was transported to UCSD Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Traffic Division responded to the scene and will be handling the investigation. It was determined that alcohol was not a factor for this incident, police said.
Anyone with information related to the collision is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
