Over 6,000 Aggies and their families celebrate Ring Day [Video]

Thousands of Aggies and their families flocked to Texas A&M University’s campus this week to participate in a tradition that has become foundational to the heritage-rich institution.

Grant McIntosh, a Class of 2025 geographic information science and technology junior, was among the 6,300-plus to line up outside the Clayton W. Williams Jr. Alumni Center to retrieve their Aggie Ring. Being a second-generation Aggie and a member of the Corps of Cadets, McIntosh said the feeling was unreal.

“I remember coming here as a freshman for Fish Orientation Week and [thinking] ‘Dang, I got a long road to go,’” McIntosh, a member of Squadron 17, said Friday. “Now, I’m finishing my junior year and it’s like, it’s already here. I got the ring and I got one year left. It’s really quick, but it’s really awesome.”
