The Oxford Police Department is getting a new headquarters.

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) – The Oxford Police Department is getting a new headquarters.

The demolition phase has been completed and construction crews are starting to lay out interior walls and put up drywall.

The project costs around $12 million and spans over 40,000 square feet.

The building will bring the entire department under one roof.

The department is also taking a modern approach to technology, focusing a lot on mobility.

Police Chief Jeff McCutchen shared what this means for Oxford Police going forward.

“It’s huge,” McCutchen said. “To have the opportunity to have everyone in our building together is big just to bring continuity and create a culture to where everyone feels like you’re together. We’ve not experienced that in probably 15 years, so it’s a huge opportunity for us.”

Oxford Police will be able to move into the new building at the start of 2025.
