HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) – Lawmakers are voting to expand paid sick days, which requires all companies regardless of size to give five days.
It passed in the House on Wednesday and will move on to the Senate.

Democratic leaders said it’s the right thing to do, but some businesses feel it’s another government mandate.
Connecticut already has paid sick days, but the bill now being voted on requires it for all companies.
There’s some pushback from small businesses.
Connecticut employees have been telling lawmakers they want paid sick days, whether it’s for themselves or to take care of a family member.
Small businesses see this as a burden.
