MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) –

A cold front will stall near the Gulf Coast on Saturday. This boundary, along with some upper-level disturbances sliding by, will help create a somewhat soggy weekend for our area.

Saturday morning, some scattered showers are possible with rain becoming more likely by the afternoon. Since we’re expecting rounds of rain, there will be some dry moments by late afternoon & evening, but evening showers can truly be expected. A wave of energy will help to increase rain chances late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. Then, the stalled boundary near the coast will begin to move SSE as a cold front… lowering the rain chances as the morning goes on. So, by early afternoon, the showers taper-off leaving a dry/cool late afternoon and evening. Rainfall estimates will range from 1-2″ on average.
