PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A Valley family is featured in this week’s People magazine for the incredible work they do for foster children in Arizona through their non-profit and their Laveen eatery.
Ryan and Sara Senters never imagined they would be parents to 11 children, but they never looked back after opening their home to their first foster child. Now, the Phoenix family serves hundreds of other foster youth along with special needs adults through a non-profit they started in 2015 called Ohana, which means family in Hawaii
The Senters also own and operate other businesses, including Hãnai Coffee + Cocktails in Laveen, which opened in 2022. It was opened to provide real-world job training and experience to youth aging out of the foster system as a way to help them prepare for their next stage of life.
