DANBURY, Conn. (WFSB) – A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in Danbury on Wednesday.

Police officers located a man lying in the roadway on Clapboard Ridge Road at 8:15 p.m.

It was determined he had been struck by a vehicle, which then evaded the scene before their arrival.

He was transported to Danbury Hospital, where he was treated for severe injuries.

Clapboard Ridge Road was closed for several hours while an accident reconstruction team conducted an initial investigation.

The suspect’s vehicle remains unidentified, and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Danbury Police Department at 203-7970-4614.
