Positively Oklahoma: Aeros Honoring 40 Oklahoma Educators [Video]

MCALESTER, Okla. — The Aeros Awards of Excellence celebrating Oklahoma teachers is expanding.

“Now we like to say we go all the way from the Texas state line to the Kansas state line!” said co-founder Christopher Plunkett.

This year, the awards doubled, and 40 teachers from across the Sooner State will be treated to a night to remember.

“We’re just excited to honor these folks and give them a special night out,” said co-founder Ben Capers.

A black-tie banquet in McAlester honored the first 20 extraordinary educators on April 4.

Kayla Adams, a special education teacher from Atoka, took home top honors and was named 2024 Southeastern Oklahoma Educator of the Year. “This just blows me away. I was not expecting this. Police clear pro-Palestinian protesters from Columbia University while clashes break out at UCLA Boston 25 News [Video]

The pro-Palestinian demonstration that paralyzed Columbia University ended in dramatic fashion, with police carrying riot shields bursting into a building that protesters took over the previous night and making dozens of arrests.
