TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The U.S. House of Representatives passed a massive $1.2 trillion government funding package to avoid another government shutdown, now it has to get through the Senate and to the President’s desk.
The spending bill would include a significant amount of funding for things like border management, additional border patrol agents, and shelter and services programs.
Meaning there is a slight possibility that Casa Alitas will be able to continue operating.
“Our goal was not to end the program. Our goal is to keep the program alive and well, and to have the federal dollars that allow us to do it,” said Pima County Administrator Jan Lesher.
