Editor’s Note: Video above features Logan’s story from 2023 and the legacy he left in the Triad Rare Disease Day is a very special day that’s celebrated worldwide each year.What is Rare Disease Day?The day raises awareness for 10,000 rare diseases that impact over 300 million people globally, according to the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD). It’s also known as the rarest day of the year. It commemorates a global movement in an effort towards equity in social opportunity, healthcare, and access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with rare diseases. Rare Disease Day is observed every year normally on Feb. 28 but will be celebrated on Feb. 29 because of the leap year this year. NORD is the official U.S. partner for Rare Disease Day.
