Red Bluff City Council tabled special sales tax for road improvement | News [Video]

Westbrook says that he hopes to have research done to present to council members sometime in May.

RED BLUFF, Calif. – Efforts to put sales tax measures on the November ballot to fix Red Bluff streets hit a road bump this week. 

On Tuesday night, the Red Bluff City Council tabled the second reading of the special sales tax that would help fix roads. 

Action News Now spoke with a person who played a role in putting together the ordinance. 

Red Bluff City Manager, Tom Westbrook, says the city council wants him to look into possible labor agreements to train locals to do the work.

“What they would like to do is direct me to explore introducing, possibly through the ordinance or some of their means a way to capture some community workforce and training agreements, or project labor agreements. Staff is going to do that work to get the analysis and present …
