Rebekah Mendoza is San Diego’s 2024 Remarkable Women winner!
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5) — Rebekah Mendoza, San Diego’s 2024 Remarkable Women winner, is a medical social worker at VITAS Healthcare who devotes much of her time and energy caring for people in hospice care.
As the region’s winner, FOX 5 San Diego and Nexstar Media Group, Inc. presented Mendoza with a $1,000 donation to the charity of her choice: Mitchel Thorp Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to support families of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
She will also join Remarkable Women from across the country at a special event in Hollywood this weekend.
Mendoza says she finds joy in helping patients and their families celebrate life’s milestones like birthdays and anniversaries. Once a week, she also teaches a wellness class through Kaiser Permanente, is an advocate for the World Vision organization and volunteers in the local autism community, all while working toward becoming a licensed …
