ROCHESTER, Minn.- The Rochester City Council and Park Board are learning how the new Soldiers Field Aquatic Center is set to make its grand opening on June 1. 

Members from both bodies were present on Monday, April 29, for a tour of the facilities to see how the project was progressing. 

The city is projecting the new facility will be able to serve over 1,100 swimmers, at an admissions rate of around $10 for a day pass, and around $8 for afternoons and evenings. 

Other details discussed on the tour included the center’s new accessibility features like ramps in the pool and splash pad, and how the city is calculating admission prices to keep the facility competitive with others. 

Kelly Rae Kirckpatrick, city council representative for Ward 4, said she was excited to see the new facility open.
