Rock the Country draws huge crowd to Boyd County [Video]

BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – Thousands of music fans have congregated on rural Boyd County for the ‘Rock the Country’ music festival, which got underway Friday and goes through Saturday.

The event, which is expected to draw as many as 30,000 fans, features artists including Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Kid Rock, and Nelly.

“You get 25 to 30,000 people in this town, and it is just — the excitement is huge right now,” Michael McBrayer, the Government Relations and Public Safety Director for Rock the Country, said. “I mean, look around us. This place is amazing right now.”

Brooklyn Click is from Elliott County, Kentucky, and says she never dreamed of seeing an event of this magnitude in this area.

“It’s an amazing feeling,” she said. “Being from here, it’s actually a shocker, because you wouldn’t see much of this any time around here.”
