Labour’s London mayor Sadiq Khan branded rival Tory candidate Susan Hall as the “most dangerous candidate” he has come up against after LBC host Tom Swarbrick pressed Hall on her past social media posts.
The comment came during a heated debate on LBC radio that saw the pair go head-to-head just weeks before Londoners are set to vote in the mayoral election on May 2.
The host decided to take Hall to task on her controversial social media activity and whether voters should weigh her record online into how they vote.
Swarbrick said: “You liked a post calling Sadiq Khan a ‘traitor rat.’ You made a baseless claim that he supported electoral fraud. You employed an Islamophobic trope about ‘Londonistan.’ [Are those] the musings of a serious politician?”
Hall responded: “I have apologised for my social media a long time ago, and many times, and I have learnt from that. I rarely use it.”
