Showers and storms will continue Tuesday, possibly with some snow [Video]

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – More showers and storms are expected tonight as a storm system slowly moves through the Midwest.

An area of low-pressure tracks just to the south of the state. This is where the most energy will be present with this storm system. Some hail will be possible in any thunderstorms that develop with large, possibly severe hail, in far southern Iowa and northern Missouri. Showers continue on Tuesday.

As this storm system tracks away from the region, cold air moves in on Tuesday to bring in the threat of some wintry precipitation. Showers will be possible early in the day, with that potential mixing in of snow or a full changeover taking place at times. Accumulations are possible, based on the snowfall rate.
