ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The Great American Eclipse occurs Monday, with totality occurring in some of the most populated metropolitan areas in the nation. However, an approaching spring storm system is also wreaking havoc with the viewing forecast for millions of people.

Locally, we will not have a total solar eclipse. In Atlanta, about 80% of the Sun will be covered. To the naked eye, this will not be noticeable. You’ll have nearly the same amount of noticeable light reaching the surface. If anything, it may look like a day where there is haze in the sky; sunlight-wise. The brightness of the day may be just slightly dimmer than on a normal sunny April afternoon for a few minutes.
