Sioux City Re-Event is April 27 [Video]

SIOUX CITY — The City of Sioux City and the Environmental Advisory Board is hosting a semi-annual Re-Event on April 27.

This recycling event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Citizen’s Convenience Center at 5800 28th St., collects materials that can be recycled, reused and refurbished. 

By not putting recyclable waste into the trash, natural resources and energy are conserved, valuable and potentially harmful materials are recovered and landfill space is saved. This year, tires, with or without the rim, and mattresses will also be accepted. 

Other accepted items are: 

  • Electronics and appliances (fee varies) 
  • Styrofoam – Must be BB or pellet-style Styrofoam
  • Batteries accepted (free)
  • Light bulbs ($.50 each)
  • Tires (without the rim is $5, with rim is $10)
  • Mattresses ($ for twin/full, $10 for queen/king)

The event only accepts payment by cash or check. The money collected will assist in covering the cost of dismantling, recycling and proper disposal.
