Sioux Citys Police Chief gets drenched as part of Ice Bucket Challenge [Video]

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Despite the rain, Sioux City’s Police Chief wanted to make good on his “Ice Bucket Challenge” bet with Colonel Matt Packard of the Colorado State Patrol.

The bet? Which ever team lost in Saturday’s contest between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Colorado Buffaloes basketball game in the women’s Sweet 16, their representative officer would get soaked with a bucket of icy water.

Iowa won that contest 89-68, meaning Chief Mueller wasn’t required to do the challenge, but he did it anyway as a show of solidarity and to honor retired police Captain Mark Kirkpatrick, who’s battling ALS, also known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”.

The “ice bucket challenge” was launched back in 2014 as a way to raise funds for the ALS Association, in the US, the challenge raised $117M.
