HUNTINGTON/CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – While not in the path of totality in the Tri-State, the Great American Eclipse drew awe and wonder throughout our coverage area on Monday afternoon.

We had crews stationed from Charleston to Ashland, Kentucky, and places in between as the eclipse reached its peak just before 3:15 p.m. Monday.

We have more reaction from Monday’s solar eclipse.

The Tri-State area saw about 95% coverage, as opposed to totality in places west and north like Bloomington, Indiana, and Cleveland where we had crews in place during the heart of darkness.

Marshall University in Huntington was among the places where people gathered for the celestial magic.
