TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — A father returning from overseas deployment surprised his young daughter at school Friday morning in Tupelo.

U.S. Army Sgt. Ty Trent surprised his daughter Eden while she was eating in the cafeteria at the Early Childhood Education Center.

“There is a lot of emotions going on right now,” he said. “I’ve been gone roughly 10 months or so and just getting home to be able to surprise my little one is fantastic.”

Friday’s surprise had been in the works with the school ever since the family learned of his return, his wife Sara Trent said.
