DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) – A group with the University of Dubuque is rallying around one of their own.
Doctors diagnosed the 2-year-old son of a University of Dubuque assistant baseball coach with a brain tumor last year. Now, the group is raising money to help cover treatment costs.
In June of last year, Everett Redman was diagnosed with a pediatric low-grade glioma. That’s the long name for a tumor inside his brain.
”We first noticed probably about 6 or 7 months old that he had what we thought was a lazy eye and then after a few different doctors’ visits and things like that, he had an MRI at the University of Iowa, and he was found to have a brain tumor,” said Jordan Redman, Everett’s mom.
Only 25% of Everett’s tumor could be removed through surgery. Now he’s receiving monthly chemotherapy.
