South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem finds herself embroiled in controversy following a promotional video she shared on social media praising dental work she received in Texas.
The video, featuring Noem endorsing Smile Texas, a cosmetic dental office, sparked a lawsuit by Travelers United, a consumer advocacy group, alleging misleading advertising.
In the video, posted on Noem’s personal social media accounts, she commends Smile Texas for addressing dental issues stemming from a biking accident.
“But the team here was remarkable and finally gave me a smile that I can be proud of and confident in and that really is a gift that I think is going to be incredibly special to have. You know, I think that I chose the team here at Smile Texas because they’re the best,” Governor Kristi Noem said.
