COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Friday evening, police said they had identified the vehicle involved in a deadly hit-and-run early that morning and asked for the public’s help regarding the vehicle’s driver. On Monday, police announced they had arrested a suspect.
Colorado Springs Police continue to investigate the deadly crash that happened on Platte Avenue near S. Academy Boulevard Friday Morning.
Police say it was a hit-and-run that killed one person riding a scooter around 1:20 in the morning. The Major Crash Team was called in to investigate.
The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Andrew James Bjornstad. He has been charged with Hit and Run involving death, a class 3 felony, Tampering with Evidence, a class 6 felony, and two counts of failure to report accidents, both misdemeanors.
