TAMU-K’s 2024 Ag Mechanics show welcomes over 40 TX high schools [Video]

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — High school students from 42 different schools across the state showed off their skills at the Agriculture Mechanics Show at Texas A&M University Kingsville.

The show invites students from as far as Dallas and even the Rio Grande Valley to showcase their original projects.

Everything from barbecue pits to dump trucks used to haul off large trees and brush.

The projects are built by each high school’s agriculture department.

Students told 3NEWS each project starts from scratch in the classroom before becoming a reality.

“It’s a learning curve for us,” Buffalo ISD student Evangeline Arabie said. “My mom helped us with the drawings over there and the 3D renderings, so we had a lot of help especially from our big sister Deleany right here.”

The show gives the university an opportunity to recruit students and it gives the students a chance to show off their work.
