A really special donation was made to the American Red Cross of Alaska: a Red Cross nurse’s uniform that once belonged to Ann Stevens, wife of former U.S. Senator Ted Stevens.
Officials say she wore it proudly during meetings with important political figures, including First Lady Betty Ford.
The couple’s daughter Sue brought it to the Red Cross office in Anchorage, which is named in her mom’s honor.
Officials say they plan to display this incredible piece of history in their lobby, which is currently under renovation.
