‘How’s your rich mom energy today?’ This expression makes me laugh every time I hear it.
It first came to my attention after it was used to describe Gwyneth Paltrow‘s look last year when famously she gave evidence at her ski-crash trial in an £800 cream cashmere knit by American designer Nili Lotan. And, of course, TV’s Succession oozed rich mom energy in every episode.
The look borrows a lot of the understated, pared-back principles from quiet luxury, and fuses them with a don’t-mess-with-me matriarch attitude.
It is especially useful at work because it portrays you as someone who has their act together – even if, behind the scenes, your home or personal life is chaotic.
