Thousands of outages reported as severe storms roll through western Carolinas [Video]

ASHEVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Thousands of people are without power as outages are reported across the western Carolina mountains on Wednesday afternoon.

As of 3:15 p.m., the following Duke Energy customers are without power:

Buncombe County, NC – 2,264

Rutherford County, NC – 543

Anderson County, SC – 507

Henderson County, NC – 506

Swain County, NC – 201

Macon County, NC – 161

Greenville County, SC – 112

Pickens County, SC – 93

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for most of western North Carolina and parts of the northern Upstate of South Carolina.
