Timberline Lodge fire: When the lodge hopes to reopen [Video]

PORTLAND, Ore. — Timberline Lodge expects to reopen the hotel Sunday after a fire broke out in the attic of the historic lodge in Government Camp on Thursday. The ski area will reopen Saturday.

“This morning, the sun shines bright on Timberline,” the lodge said via social media on Friday.

It was expected that the historic lodge might be closed for a long time after numerous reports of a fire came in Thursday evening. A live camera from outside the lodge showed flames coming from the corner of the building. 

All guests were able to safely evacuate the lodge and no injuries were reported. 

Just under two hours from the time of the call, the first was under control and firefighters were working to protect historical artifacts and artwork, the Hoodland Fire District said. …
