Timberline Lodge to reopen this week after fire [Video]

GOVERNMENT CAMP Ore. (KPTV) – Two days after a fire threatened to burn down Timberline Lodge, ski lifts are back open and a spokesperson said the hotel plans to open back up for guests on Sunday.

On Saturday, the ski area was full of skiers and snowboarders, taking advantage of a mostly bluebird day.

Dave Brown was on the slopes with his friend Brian Otis. Brown said he’s happy the lifts are back open and is even happier the fire Thursday didn’t burn down the historic lodge.

“When we found out they were closing the ski area yesterday, we were mostly concerned about the health of the lodge,” Brown said.

Fire damages Timberline Lodge, closed until further notice

As business returns to normal in the ski area and the investigation into the fire continues, attention now turns to the historic artwork inside.
