Attorney Alina Habba is representing Donald Trump on Fox News these days — instead of in the courtroom — but that doesn’t mean she lacks opportunities to dig him into deeper trouble.
On Tuesday, while Trump was sitting in a courtroom, Habba was speaking for him on right-wing media, assuring the world that he will not comply with the gag order, even if he’s thrown in jail.
Meanwhile, the indicted former president and the rest of his team seemed to be working to send the same message.
During Monday’s proceedings, the prosecution brought up possible contempt charges for three posts that Trump made attacking witnesses, including one in which he shared an opinion piece calling Michael Cohen a “serial perjurer.”
The judge set a date for a hearing next week to discuss the matter, and in a Tuesday filing, the District Attorney requested that the defendant not only be hit with the maximum fine but be warned of jail time …
