Trump Tries to Quote Legal Analyst With Amusing Result [Video]

Former President Donald Trump tried quoting NBC’s Senior Legal Correspondent Laura Jarrett on social media Tuesday night, but slightly missed.

Jarrett appeared on Tuesday’s Today, where she said the prosecution in Trump’s New York criminal has its work cut out for them. The former president has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments meant to cover up extramarital affairs.

“The challenge for prosecutors is there is no smoking gun,” she said. “There is no email. There is no tape that can actually prove the former president’s intent. And so, unless he gets on the stand and is cross-examined and something explosive happens, they really don’t have a way to actually prove that part of the case.”
